We want respect with parking spaces for the handicapped

The project proposed aims to ensure the parking spaces for handicapped people. To make an analysis at the local level, it can be noticed that people are deliberately vague for the handicapped, without repression. Many people pretend not to understand when the parking spaces for handicapped people are occupied by people who do not have any disability, but the handicapped feel difficulties when their parking spaces are not available, having a difficulty much greater in locomotion.The initiative aims to install cameras at specific points in order to impose a fine for individuals who occupy the vacancies for the handicapped, for associations and foundations for the defense of the interests of disabled people.


All interested parties may participate in the initiative, which aims to ensure the partnership with the city of Joao Pessoa and with the ASPADEF - Paraibana Association of Handicapped and the FUNAD - Foundation of Support to the Handicapped.


For the project, we will try a meeting with the representatives of ASPADEF and FUNAD and lectures for public awareness and engagement of stakeholders. It will also conversations in this blog to seek support and a greater dissemination of activities and social mobilisation in public places, in order to repress socially the people who occupy the parking spaces for the handicapped, making questions to them and showing how this undermines the locomotion of physically handicapped persons.These mobilizations and the disclosure of them through the blog are extremely important to raise awareness among the general population of the consequences of their acts.


The challenges related to the costs that the installation of the cameras will cost to the city. However, the installation will ensure an effective access to the handicapped, as well as facilitating their locomotion, thus preventing the people in general do not take advantage of the parking spaces for the handicapped.  


The success of the initiative will be racetrack when you made a specific comparison between the periods in which the parking spaces for the handicapped were not controlled by cameras and the period in which came to be. Faced with the possibility of a fine, we want to inhibit the deliberate occupation the parking spaces intended for the handicapped. The repercussion will be also verified when made others social mobilizations in order to check, in practice, if the occupation for the handicapped are being respected.
